Best 1-2 player combination for 2018-2019 season

Postby Class C Dad » Thu Jun 14, 2018 12:19 pm

We have seen many posts listing top individual players for the upcoming season. How about a list of top 1-2 player combinations on the same team.

Here are a few of my early picks

Vance/Flemming - Bangor
Ballew/Chadbourn - Portland
Wirkula/Lombardo - Oceanside
Abbott/Byron - Hall Dale

I'd have to agree on...

Fleming/Vance (probably my best duo)

and

Abbott/Byron (impressive scorers)

-A surprise duo this year could be Spencer Strong and Colton Carson of Oxford Hills. Both will be seniors and both had solid junior campaigns.
-I would say is Maiwen of EL and their other soon-to-be junior guard Austin Brown.
-William Mitchell and Payton Jones of TA should be a formidable duo in the SMAA as well. Jones had a great freshman campaign and Mitchell can do it all.

Agree on Fleming and Vance of Bangor. Both are coming off injuries that they got this spring in AAU. Fleming elbow and Vance ankle. Hope they are 100 percent for the coming 2018-19 season which starts in 5 months.

Jack Jowett and Braden Soule at Erskine. Both will be 3rd year starters. Both can score and are smart, fundamentally sound players.

Some good players mentioned in this post. I look forward to watching some of these players in the upcoming season.

Byron and Abbott both have a shot at 1000 career points as they both enter senior season at HD.
It would be quite an accomplishment to have two players from the same team and same class get to 1000 together. These two kids have played together since the second grade and have great chemistry and are good friends off the court. More importantly, they will be focused on the team and trying to get back to the Gold Ball Game

Hawes/Varney - Hermon enough size, IQ & skill to play with any other 1-2 pick. Homer pick, yes, but true.
