Pogue, Healy Help 'Cats Stay Perfect at Home, Move to 3-1 in League

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior center Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) and senior forward Olivia Healy (Reading, Mass.) keyed a strong second half showing to lead the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a 66-45 win over UMass Lowell on Monday afternoon in Lundholm Gymnasium.

Pogue led all scorers with 15 points, 13 in the second half. Healy had 13 points, 11 in the second half. Healy had eight rebounds and Pogue had six.

The Wildcats improved to 12-5 overall and 3-1 in America East. They are 7-0 at home. UMass Lowell is 3-14 and 0-4.

Senior guard Brittni Lai (Irvington, N.Y.) scored 11 points and had nine assists. Senior forward Kat Fogarty (Westminster, Mass.) had eight points and led all players with nine rebounds.

UNH outscored the River Hawks 44-20 in the second half...

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team, 3-1 in America East play, will travel to Burlington, Vt. on Thursday to face the Vermont Catamounts at 7 P.M. on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

STORYLINES

The Wildcats improved their America East record to 3-1 with Monday's 66-45 win over UMass Lowell.
The Wildcats upped their record at home to 7-0. They were 14-2 at home last year.
UNH swept the season series from Vermont last season.
Brittni Lai and Kat Fogarty have each scored 519 points in their UNH careers.
Both seniors are in their second seasons at UNH after transferring from Marist.
UNH posted a program-best record of 26-6 in 2016-17.
The Wildcats won their first outright America East regular season championship with a 15-1 league record last season.
Coach Maureen Magarity was named America East Coach of the Year.

Fogarty Rallies 'Cats to Comeback Win at Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Senior forward Kat Fogarty (Westminster, Mass.) scored a season-high 21 points, including a 10-footer in the lane with 9.3 seconds to play, to rally the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a 52-49 comeback win over Vermont on Thursday night in Patrick Gymnasium.

The Wildcats won their third straight game and improved to 13-5 overall and 4-1 in America East. They trailed 37-34 after three periods and 42-34 with 8:03 left in the game before roaring back. UNH has trailed entering the fourth quarter in three of its four league wins.

Vermont fell to 5-13 and 2-3.

Senior guard Brittni Lai (Irvington, N.Y.) scored 10 points and iced the game with a huge defensive rebound and pair of foul shots with less than a second to play. Senior guard Aliza Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.) contributed a season—high 10 rebounds.
