Camara Records 20 Points, 11 Rebounds in 74-70 Loss to American

DURHAM, N.H. – Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds, but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was edged 74-40 by American University in Tuesday night's non-conference game at Lundholm Gym.

It was the second double-double of the season and 18th of the career for Camara, who scored 20 points in a game for the third time as a Wildcat. Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) finished with 18 points and eight rebounds.

AU was led by Sa'eed Nelson (26p, 8r) and Larry Motuzis (20p, 7r).

Both teams now have a 1-3 record.

Leissner Scores Game-High 21 Points in 78-64 Loss to Furman

ASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) recorded 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated 78-64 by Furman University in Friday afternoon's Phil Knight Invitational/PK80 presented by State Farm satellite game at Nashville Municipal Stadium.

Leissner scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the first half, when he shot 6 of 10 from the floor, including 2-for-4 from 3-point range, and 5 of 6 from the foul line. Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.), the reigning America East Rookie of the Week, finished with career highs in both points (13) and rebounds (six); he also tallied four assists in 36 minutes.

Furman was led by Devin Sibley (20p, 9r), Jordan Lyons (12p), Daniel Fowler (1p) and Matt Rafferty (11p).

UNH is now 1-4. The Paladins improved to 3-2.

Camara Tallies 15 Points, 17 Rebounds in 77-63 Loss to Utah State

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) recorded 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated 77-63 by Utah State University in Saturday afternoon's PK80 presented by State Farm game at Nashville Municipal Auditorium.

It is the third double-double of the season and 19th career for Camara, who made 7 of 12 field goals and also had two steals in 31 minutes.

Jordan Reed (Lucas, Texas) came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points; he shot 5-for-9 from the floor, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range.

Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.), the reigning America East Rookie of the Week, recorded a career-high 10 assists.

USU was led by Sam Merrill (20p) and DeAngelo Isby (16p, 7r, 5a).

Jordan Scores Career-High 19 Points in 78-70 Loss to Niagara


DURHAM, N.H. – Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) scored 24 points and Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.) netted a career-high 19 points but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated by Niagara University, 78-70, in Tuesday night's non-conference matchup at Lundholm Gym.

Leissner scored his season-high 24 points on 9 of 18 shooting from the floor, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range; he also made all three free throw attempts and tallied seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 39 minutes.

Jordan, who came off the bench to surpass his career high in the first half with 15 points, finished with 19 as he matched his personal best of four 3-pointers. He also had a team-high five assists.

Niagara was led by the backcourt duo of Kahlil Dukes (31 points) and Matt Scott (27 points, eight rebounds). Dukes drained 8 of 11 3-pointers.

UNH is now 2-7 overall while Niagara improves to 4-5.

LOOKING AHEAD
New Hampshire returns to action Dec. 9 (3 p.m.) at College of the Holy Cross.

THE DIFFERENCE

Niagara outscored UNH 13-2 the last four minutes of the game to transform a 68-65 deficit into a 78-70 win. Dukes drilled a 3-pointer to tie the score at 68 and ignite a 9-0 run; the next six points were scored by Scott.
