Sweet Home Alabama

At least now Roy Moore has plenty of time to watch Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel. But if Steve Bannon and Trump can't win in Alabama you've got to wonder if this exercise in polluted populism is over. So much winning.

An excellent result all around...

A creepy, cranky, weirdo, walking, talking 2018 Democrat campaign commercial won't be seated in the Senate...

Real, normal conservatives in Alabama stood up and defended themselves by not showing up by the tens of thousands yesterday... (& lets face it, in that state particularly, thats the only way a Democrat as radical as "Mr abortion as birth control" Jones could ever win...)

Steve Bannon can now go back to sullying Andrew Breitbart's legacy full time as his credibility is a big fat zero AND the left loses a favorite boogeyman....a two-fer...!

The President's initial instincts to oppose Judge Freak proved accurate....and no, he didnt later support Moore, everything he said was opposition to Jones & the R's having that 52nd vote...not one word in support of Moore the man was uttered by the President...an important distinction in my view...

The myth of a Republican Senate majority of 52-48 is finally over. With Senators McCain, Collins & Murkowski, aside from judicial nominations, its at best 50-50, more often its now 52-48 for Donkeys...

All above are good things...the GOP dodged a high velocity round yesterday....enjoy your stay Senator elect Jones, its to be a short one...you have 24 months to wrack up as much DC grift as you can muster, get that lobbying gig lined up for Jan '21...

Trump endorsed Moore. He spent the weekend campaigning for him. It's foolish to suggest that he somehow navigated a political minefield successfully. Maybe watch his recent speech in Pensacola.

Hawkfan is only parrotting his Fox News cohorts. The first thing out of their mouths last night after the election was called was that the Republicans won by losing...   #NoSpinZone :P

I don't deny that he "campaigned" for him. I'm making an objective distinction....said campaign was for the seat, not the man....that being objectively true, it is impossible to say that this is some sort of stinging defeat of Trumpy. If anyone was defeated it was Bannon....Judge Freak Show inspired 22,000 Alabama conservatives to use their vote to write someone else in & thousands upon thousands more didn't show up.

Bannons done...thats a win for all. Doug Jones changes the Senate dynamic very little & a Republican will have that seat in two short years anyway...

Moving on to another potentially very entertaining "win"....what with Fondler Franken's sorry, not sorry, I'm the victim, I'll get around to it at some point resignation...we may be treated to the theater of his attempt to wriggle off the hook & stay. Afterall, he had to resign in order for the Donkeys to be able to use an anticipated Weirdo Judge victory as an election year sledgehammer....Aligator Al must be beside himself right now...!

Franken had to go, no argument there. Yet the fact remains that he resigned after facing few allegations than Trump. So you've still got the confessed p-grabber running your ship into the ground.

No pictures of Trumpy though...& no credible accusers & the Billy Bush tape was adjudicated last November...

No MCoast...not a win in the way you mean it. But a best possible outcome to be hoped for. Judge More Younguns Please in the Senate was destined to be a daily natural disaster....that fate has been avoided, and at a relitively low cost, a two year hiatus for an otherwise rock solid R Senate seat.

Is that a "win" in my book? Damn straight it is...
