WEEK 10: Maine at Albany

Postby dunbar » Sat Oct 26, 2019 3:27 pm

The Bears take on an Albany team that’s coming off a bye. Can Maine make it five straight wins over the Danes?

I can not say how the game against Albany will go next weekend but here are the stats on the Great Danes football
team

Nice article about Blair and Whitaker playing with a chip on their shoulder. One game at a time, beat the Danes for the 5th year in a row. Right now Danes are favored by 4.5pts.

This is the type of game a mediocre Maine team has won on the road. No rhyme or reason, but that's Black Bear football.

I feel like Maine needs to win (obviously) and win convincingly.. IF they get to 7-5 somehow and are miraculously in a discussion for the 20th seed or something, I think style points might come into play at some point.

Playing mediocre football and barely winning won't be as sexy to a committee as stomping a mudhole in teams and walking it dry for the last 4 weeks.

I too would love to see a convincing win but there is little in their performance to make me think this is going to happen. Albany is the #1 throwing team in the CAA and we are #1 against the pass, this should make for an interesting game. We are dead last in takeaways, although we had 2 last week, the Danes are #1 in takeaways.
We will be lucky to squeak out a W.
Nice overview of the game.

Fagnano to Miller sets the longest passing TD in school history again.

Can we get some aggressive Maine style defense anytime this season? This year's defense isn't even a shadow of last year's black hole.

Fagnano looks great again, especially for the freshman.

Ehhh, let’s just Big XII it and not play D. Don’t need to with this offensive output.
