Team..........Sch. Avail..BIGS/Centers

Information taken from verbalcommits.com

4 teams without a listed center/back-to-basket player and unless they recruit one that is not a project and the listed BIGS are not projects then there will not be much post size for next year except for Albany, SB UMass-Lowell and Vermont.

"imposter": Agreed. But not a true back-to-the-basket BIG. Need a BIG 6'10" plus 250lb that can help immediately.Hope they get one with the remaining scholarship. Currently Antoms is the only BIG weight wise.

If they do get one with the remaining scholarship that can help right away and is not another project then they have to use him and have the needed floor spacing to force teams to pay a big price if they double down to double team him. Open threes or open layups and to go one on one if no double team.

One thing to remember. 2 sides to the equation. On the defensive side players with size have to defend players away from the rim. That can be a big problem unless they zone or junk it up. If I didn't have a big to match another, I would make the big kid come away from the rim.

"hoopsisme": I agree, but if I was playing you man I would put him on your poorest perimeter shooter and SAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Playing zone 1-3-1 with him in the middle.

Even if Maine does not get a BIG who can play immediately they will have good overall size for the AE Conference.

7 players 6'7" ( 2 @ 6'7", 3 @ 6'8" and 2 @ 6'9") plus and a couple with great reach. Always measured reach as well as height. Peter Gavett was 6'7" but a wing span of 7'2". Reach doesn't get tired, but jumping does.

Guards at 6'6", 6'5", 6'5", 6'4" and 5'10"

I covered this on a previous thread. There aren't 6'10" 250# guys out there.

If they exist they aren't coming to Maine.

Stop looking

UMass Lowell's front court 6'9", 6'9", 6'11". In a 19 point win on the road, Andrew Fleming was Maine's primary low post player at 6'6"-6'7" shooting 18-20 from the floor. His baskets came on back cuts from the perimeter, post ups, hi-low action and elbow catch, rip and goes. In Barron's system, he is highly effective. Next season a little more size all across the lineup.

Why is Cim more obsessed with size over performance?
