hartford wbb coach leaving

This tonight off the Women's Hoop Dirt (whoopdirt) website:

"Kim McNeill, who led Hartford to consecutive America East Conference championship game appearances and three-straight winning seasons, has agreed to contract terms to become head women’s basketball coach at East Carolina University according to an announcement Thursday by director of athletics Jon Gilbert.

"The Bassett, Va., native owns a 59-38 (.608) record in three seasons directing the Hawks, producing a winning record in all three campaigns. McNeill will follow Heather Macy as the 10th head coach in program history and will directly succeed interim coaches Chad Killinger and Nicole Mealing, who guided the Pirates through the recently completed 2018-19 campaign."

UVM and UMBC still have to name permanent head coaches. Bingo, Albany and Lowell had first-year coaches this year. So, at least six of the nine coaches next year will be first- or second-year resident coaches.

Whoopdirt also reports that Holy Cross will continue for the full 2019-20 season with Ann McInerney as interim head coach. She was 7-4 as interim after Bill Gibbons was suspended. Yesterday, the Cross fired him. Earlier it had allowed him to post a statement that his suspension did not involve inappropriate acticivity with players, that it was administrative in nature. You'll probably recall that McInerney succeeded Sharon Versyp at UMaine and set the stage for Cindy Blodgett to become head coach.
