Some of the transfers on the men’s side like: Edwards, Pollard, Myers, Calixte, Little & Vann were looking to play on a bigger stage with a chance to play in the NCAA Tournament. Only Vann is going to realize this dream, as VCU should make it in this year.
As far as gaining more exposure to play professional basketball, I don’t think any of these players gained an advantage by transferring up. Guys who finished at Maine like: Troy Barnies, Raheem Singleton & Mike Allison, got the same opportunities to play pro ball overseas, that Edwards & Pollard had. Hard working/talented ball players on any level of D1 can find professional basketball opportunities. It is more important to get a good agent and an unrelenting work ethic than it is what college team you played for. If you can play, you can play.

Issac Vann and Aaron Calixte both ended up in the Big Dance. I guess Oklahoma had enough quality wins to sneak in there some how. They were sub .500 in the Big 12. Congrats to these former Maine Black Bears!

"BZ": Oklahoma's win over Kansas in the next to the last game of the regular season might have been a factor and helped the Sooners and Calixe.

I’m sorry BZ but you must be mistaken. Bam-Bam has clearly said multiple times that Calixte wasn’t going to make the tournament. Everything he says is right so you must’ve gotten some misinformation.

I. Vann and VCU play University of Central Florida with the 7'6" center on Friday a 9:40pm.

A. Calixe and Oklahoma play Old Miss on Friday at 12:40pm.

2 Maine transfers that get to play in the big dance.
