OT: Portland's Football Failures

Postby dunbar » Thu Feb 07, 2019 12:31 pm

Remember when someone on here said that Portland was a great football market because of the huge success of the Maine Mammoths selling out the ex-CCCC week after week?

(Sidenote: Arena Football is an extremely difficult business and I hope the team does find success somewhere and somehow.)

This is hardly an indictment on the Portland metro market of 515,000 people being a bad location for
College football just because Arena football will not be back this year.

This is an article on the economics of Arena football and all the failures that Arena football has experienced
over the years.

If anything the fact that the Mammoths are not going to be playing Arena football inside the Cross Center during
the summer when no one wants to attend is more of an assessment on Arena football and not on the Portland Metro market.

I don't really want to relive this argument again. I have made my peace with it for now.
