If Maine wins, do you guys think there is any scenario where the NCAA would send Maine across country again for an 8pm Friday night game on 12/14? You gotta think they'd give them an extra day to play on Saturday 12/15 @ 2pm right? The other half of the bracket has either an extra day OR would be within similar enough regions to prevent that from happening I would hope.

I think Maine could easily have to play on Friday night again. They would argue "one week rest versus one week rest."

It is a problem I would gladly have Maine deal with.

Need to start strong tonight. Would rather kickoff and have our defense smash some mouths early to get going. Get good field position for offense.

I think that if Maine wins we will see another Friday night appearance. Yes, it is "only" FCS....but a Maine vs. Eastern Washington/UC-Davis bicoastal match-up sounds much more sexy than the likely kiss-your-cousin South Dakota State vs. North Dakota State dust up.

Wow, having a tough time staying focused today...

Another key to the game I wanted to mention: Derek Deoul

last 3 games:
31.4
33.2
36.8

None of those punts were downed inside the 20 either.

We need this kid to play lights out and add some serious hang to his punts tonight -which I hope the altitude helps with. I'd say add distance too but that'd be a tall for order for him to do both given how much he's struggled this season. If their all conference returner gets his hands on a low liner it could be 'Adios'.

Beat the Wildcats!!

I'm not one for predictions. I'm amused by posts on various message boards talking about margin of victory, strength of schedule, common opponents ect. I just think that this time of year those things don't mean a whole lot. Even the Sagarin ratings, which in the past I've found to be a fairly reliable predictor- I don't put a whole lot of stock in this time of year. I like the way this team is built and I like their current trajectory. Keep Ferguson upright and in the game and it should be a great game. Enough said- GO BEARS!

@sewey76 Yeah, I agree with your take. FCS playoffs are like the NFL playoffs: teams peaking at the right time make the furthest runs regardless of their regular season record/stats/etc.
