Holy crap 32 yd TD to Micah Wright, 21-14. Maine looks like a different team. 2nd half is usually not good for FCS vs FBS as far as wearing down and backups, But this is a game nonetheless ;)

Game recap so far:

WKU goes up 21-0 in the first 2-3 minutes of the game.

Two long touchdown passes where Maine just didn't cover anyone. Like literally the receivers didn't have anyone within 20 yards of them. The other score was a pick 6. Basically, the first few minutes of the game was a complete mental breakdown by Maine. WKU didn't do anything special. Maine was just awful.

For the last 25+ minutes of the first half Maine outplayed WKU and outscored them 14-0.

Maine has made a few big plays on offense. They finally looked to Wright and he scored a touchdown. He can dominate these WKU defensive backs. After the first couple series Ferguson seems to have gotten his confidence and looks good. Maine is winning the battle up front on defense. This group of Maine defensive linemen and linebackers is very good.

Halftime score: Maine 14, WKU 21

Side note: Lots of key players out for Maine. Lowe and Grayer on defense. And, I just saw Edwards on the sideline in street clothes.

If Maine doesn't wear down on defense I will be surprised, especially missing Lowe and Grayer. I noticed we are not using starters for punt teams which has how we lost Taji to injury last week. Would have been easy to put your head down and get blown out. That is what would happened last year, ie Villanova game, credit to this team for hanging tough. GO BLUE!!!

#81 in street clothes? Did anyone notice him barely try to tackle the TD interception, unless he was hurt it was bizarre to say the least???

Maine's starters are better than WKU's starters especially Maine's defense up front. My only concern is depth as Maine has some key players out AND many of Maine's best defenders are playing on both kick and punt teams...

We need the offense to step up with a couple more big plays and we can take this game over.

Maine up 28-21, TD pass to Micah again. What the hell were the Hilltoppers doing going for it from their own 15 yd line.
