ALBANY, N.Y. - The University of Maine baseball team trailed 7-1 heading into the top of the seventh inning but came back to top the University of Albany, 8-7, on Saturday at Varsity Field. The Black Bears scored three runs in the seventh and added two each in the final two frames for the win.

If they tie with Hartford ( with a sweep) they win the tie breaker . need Stony Brook and Lowell and Albany UMBC to not be sweeps and they end up 1st.

Bam,
I know you said 6 teams make the AE tourney so when I tried to figure out and plan to attend a game that Maine might play I found this info, of course did not find anything on UMaine site or AE site. UMaine site says Tourney goes 4 days but doesn't mention what seed plays what seed on what day. Hopefully you can confirm it is 6 teams that make it not he 4 teams that Wikipedia says and maybe what seeds play on 5/23 the start date of the tourney???
Like pulling teeth to figure AE info. ;)

Lowell, MA (2013–17)
Stony Brook, NY (2011-12)
Vestal, NY (2010)
Endicott, NY (2009)
Farmingdale, NY (2007-08)
Burlington, VT (2003, 2005-06)
Orono, ME (1996, 2002, 2004)
Wilmington, DE (1995, 1997-2001)
Brookline, MA (1994)
Newark, DE (1993)

The America East Conference Baseball Tournament, officially known as the America East Conference Baseball Championship, is the conference baseball championship of the NCAA Division I America East Conference. The top four finishers in the regular season of the conference's six eligible teams advance to the double-elimination tournament, which is in the midst of a five-year residency at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Massachusetts.[1][2] The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship.[3] Prior to 1998, the tournament was a six-team double-elimination format. After 2009, the conference also began allowing schools to host the championship on fields without lights.

Perfect, just what I was looking for. It pays big dividends to be 1 or 2 , guess we need a sweep of Hartford or at least 2 out of 3 and hope and that none of the other teams tied for second sweep their opponent, then it comes down to tiebreakers.

The only chance we have for 1st or 2nd is a sweep of UH as we lose the tie breakers to SB, UML and UMBC. Like coach Derba says we got to the Championship game last year not being the one or two seed so why not do it again this year.

Starting pitching depth might be a concern with Silva hurt.. getting that 1 or 2 seed and only having to win 3 games would be very favorable.
