Canceled...

ORONO, Maine - The baseball game between the University of Maine and Saint Joseph's College scheduled for Wednesday, April 18 at Mahaney Diamond has been canceled. The Black Bears and Monks will not make up the non-conference game.

Maine will return to action next weekend at America East foe UMass Lowell. A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, April 21 while a single game is set for Sunday, April 22. The Black Bears return home on April 25 for a midweek contest against Bowdoin.

I’m not from the Orono area. Was it raining or snowing Wednesday? Teams in NE have been playing outside since late March.

The truth of the matter is the weather in Orono was bad all week (Raine and a little snow mixed in).. The other factor was Maine's team was banged up quite a bit so it was better for them to cancel that game to prepare for the conference games against Lowell.
