SMCC vs. UMA

Postby PHSZShirland60 » Wed Feb 18, 2009 6:11 pm

And come to the HUB Gymnasium in South Portland as SMCC takes on UMaine-Augusta tonight to see who will move onto the Yankee Small College Conference Tournament in New Hampshire on Saturday.

The Seawolves started the season off strong, but struggled down the home stretch as they have lost 4 of their last 6 conference games. The Moose hope to hit the Seawolves while they're down to end SMCC's season for good.

UMA leads SMCC 48-43 after the first half of play.
Seawolves came out strong, leading by 12 at one point, but UMA bombed their way back into this one. We'll see who the stronger team is in the second half!

Southern Maine Community College caught up from a 48-43 halftime deficit, but couldn't pull away as their season ended prematurely tonight, as they fall to the UMaine-Augusta Moose 87-84.
Jawan Stallings hit 50% of his shots and scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to pace the Moose. Coleman Findlay led the Seawolves with 26 points and 9 rebounds in the losing effort.
Deon Cheers added 26 points for the Moose.
