Short list of in house candidates for AD?

Lynn Coutts
Richard Barron
Seth Woodcock
John Diamond
Buffie McCue

Probably in that order would be my guess.

Not sure what interest they will get in a national search, but there are only 350+- Division 1 schools so it's a desired position which will draw applicants.

Early handicapping points to Coutts.

Lynn Coutts would get my vote, but we are talking just interim AD for now, correct?

I'm a little surprised that UD lured him away. It is an academically strong school but never had a lot of money. That may have changed as university presidents have become full-time fundraisers. Other than men's hockey, I'm not aware of any real strength in athletics there. I saw its women's bb team play in 2014, and it was about a 10-20 team. Hasn't improved much over the past four years, even with lots of new players coming in. Maybe Creech just wanted to go to a higher-ranked hockey school??

Denver also has had traditionally strong lacrosse programs.

UM always seems to be searching for a President when they are searching for an AD.

"Interim" fits the bill until the President thing is solved.

Walsh is blowing in the wind.

Typical UM-Zero stuff.....

I assume, that an interim AD would be in place prior to Coach Walsh's contract expiring. Will this person have the power to say adios, or re-sign him to a new deal? Will the President make that decision for them?

One of the first tasks that Kreech had was the Woodward decision.
Now, the new AD will be making a decision on Walsh. Seems like Kreech left off right where he started!

For the sake of Maine basketball recruiting I hope it is a quick decision and exit so the new guy
can take over and still have time to recruit his type of players.

Walsh making comments on Creech leaving is a bad joke...please....Creech was Walsh's last chance.

Thank God it may be over soon.
