Disappointing result last night.
Swayman was not his normally sharp self.

BC had the better of the play throughout. The only time Maine sustained pressure was in the 1st period after going down 1-0. Maine had chances and finished with 33 shots, but too many of them on Woll were very pedestrian. They shot themselves in the foot by trying to make the extra pass too often on odd-man rushes. Need to be more selfish.

BC is a better, more talented team. Too much speed and poise. Maine will need to play much better and get special efforts from Swayman to earn even a point next weekend.

Right. They have clinched no lower than 7th. But if they finish 5th, they won’t get home ice because the 5th seed earns a bye in the first round but stil goes on the road in the quarterfinals. Therefore, they have not clinched home ice advantage in the Hockey East playoffs.

It’s not that difficult to understand.

No, it isn't dumbar....so why do you keep arguing with me? They have clinched 7th place which is a home playoff game....what is so hard for you to understand? If they clinch 5th place (which is highly doubtful after last night) then they will clinch a bye and it will be a road game. Right now they have clinched a home playoff game....period.

Spot on. The other part of the equation is Red Gendron. When you have the less poised & talented team...it's up to the coach to bring it & demonstrate some motivational & coaching skills. Red Gendron just does not have "it". The guy is an emotionless dud. If this were the pros...maybe his disengaged zombie routine would be fine...these are young men who need guidance & a kick in the pants once in a while. It wasn't the L that was the worst thing last night...it was a total lack of preparedness and sense of urgency that was unacceptable.

Clinched means 100% will happen with zero doubt. You just contradicted yourself by saying clinched while acknowledging the fact there is no guarantee they Maine will host any playoff game. Clinched at least 7th? Correct. Clinched home-ice? Wrong.

They have NOT clinched a home playoff game...period.

Dumbar...here is my original post which you said is incorrect. I acknowledged that they could finish anywhere from 2nd to 7th....and that they had clinched a home playoff spot....which was FACT. They had not clinched 5th place (or 2nd or 3rd or 4th or 6th). Just 7th place.....a home playoff berth. Don't you have anything better to do with your time, dumbar?
