Maine up 16 and looking great through one half of play against UNH.

Also, Vermont up big at the half against Albany...this conference baffles me.

I guess I should have been streaming this game instead of the men. Total embarrassment in Durham. Disgust is not even strong enough.

Take the exact opposite of everything you typed and it applies to the men's game.

Make that eight in a row!

Wow, that was a FUN game to watch. I agree - this may be the best that this team has played all season. Everyone seemed to be in sync - 25 assists! Tanesha with a double-double. Awesome defense. Great ball movement to get the open shots. Just all-around terrific game plan and execution.

Crowd seemed a little more lively at times, but hard to tell over TV. To echo Bob Neal's earlier post.... can we PLEASE pack the CIC for these last two home games?!?!

Awesome smack down of the pre-season #1!

I was happy to see Fanny Wadling have a breakout night on offense. She seemed relaxed & confident. When she is hitting her mid-range jumper this team is very tough to beat! Also was nice to see Brosseau and Saar take care of the ball tonight. This may have been Saar's best game at PG this season.

This team deserves more support. They are just a very likeable close knit team...and they are REALLY good!

UMaine women’s basketball team cruises past UNH for eighth straight win

...UMaine employed a 2-3 zone and collapsed inside on UNH’s standout 6-2 center Pogue, forcing the Wildcats to shoot outside. They they struggled mightily, shooting just 31.6 percent from the floor and 21.7 percent from the 3-point arc.

“I thought it was really a complete game, offensively and defensively,” said UMaine interim head coach Amy Vachon. “We put in a game plan and the girls executed it to a ‘T,’ defensively, especially in the first half. Pogue is a fantastic player and we took the approach that we were going to force some other players to beat us and, fortunately, it worked out for us tonight.”

“It was a great game plan,” said UNH coach Maureen Magarity. “We have really struggled shooting all year. And, on the flip side, they shot the lights out.
