Millan cementing herself as Maine's go to scorer

ORONO - The new season began with a win for Maine women's basketball and once again it was a familiar face who lead the way for the Black Bears, Blanca Millan.

She's been doing it all season for the Black Bears, Millan scored 20 points and added seven rebounds in Maine's 64-56 win over Stony Brook.

The sophomore forward is averaging 17 points per game and shooting an impressive 48.5 percent from the field.

Wadling coming into her own for Maine women's basketball

...Sophomore forward Fanny Wadling has played a crucial role lately for the Black Bears serving as a nice complementary scoring option on offense.

The Swede scored a season high 18 points against Dartmouth last month and also chipped in with a season high 13 rebounds against Duke.

Head coach Amy Vachon believes Wadling's sudden increased level of play began during Maine's toughest stretch in non-conference play

Halftime Maine 32 Binghamton 29. Maine 11-28 from the floor and 5 for 12 from 3 point land. So they are hot and in the lead.

Yes, that's usually how basketball works! When the ball goes in the basket, your team gets points added to the scoreboard. When it doesn't go in, the clock operator will not add points to your score. Great analysis.

Good God, that crowd sucked. Tie game with a fellow top four team in the conference and everyone seemed completely oblivious to it.

Tough loss. Maine too soft with the ball in OT. Sutton was off today as well.

Honestly, the whole state is like this now. It's like the life has been sucked out of everyone. :|
