USM Huskies 1 win 11 losses

Postby basketball_guy » Fri Jan 05, 2018 1:08 am

I thought UMAINE was having a bad year. Now I see USM is 1 win 11 losses...
USM is on an 11 game losing streak.

Must be one of those years in basketball in Maine....

More like a typical year in USM basketball. Does any one know the last time USM was .500 or better?

But the USM roster is dotted with a bunch of kids, all players who some believe would be better wearing a UMaine uniform and would stick around to be four year players.

Are these the "All-State" players....or the "Honorable Mention" All-State players?

I've watched USM play several times. They lose because they don't have one true point guard on the roster. (Like Maine) They have some converted two guards and VERY poor decision makers manning the point. Tunnel vision and creative turnovers are the norm. One player could turn that team around as they have some talent on the wings. However, they have no players that would help Maine. A couple years ago they did. Maine made Zack Leal look like a pro when USM beat them a few years back. :)

Good point, Linguist ...
11 players from Maine on USM's roster ... and the team has one win, on the D3 level!

Some of these Mainers on USM were borderline starters in high school, not all state. I am a bit surprised the Hendricks kid from Oceanside hasn't grabbed control of that point guard spot.

Hendricks came of the bench against #24 Nichols and had a strong game, minus the five TOs.

How come USM gets out recruited by Husson, St. Joes etc? It can't be location, the educations are comparable and the Huskies play in a much tougher conference.
