UMaine Hockey Much Improved

ORONO, MAINE (WABI)- Last winter was not a good one for UMaine hockey. They finished 11th in Hockey East managing only five conference wins all season.

Before this year the league’s coaches picked UMaine to finish last.

But UMaine seems to have turned the corner. They are in the middle standings and they at this point are starting to feel better about themselves.

UMaine Men's Hockey is Feeling Good After the Holiday Break

ORONO, MAINE (WABI) - Maine hockey players had a chance to go home with good feelings. A chance, when they ran into old friends, tell some pretty good stories about the first half of this Maine hockey season.

"Bubba" Ready to Take the net for UMaine Hockey This Weekend

ORONO, MAINE (WABI) - Goalie Jeremy Swayman has helped turn around the fortunes of the UMaine hockey program. But he's with the U.S. Junior team this weekend.

Maine men's hockey scores early to beat RPI 3-2

TROY, N.Y. - Maine men's hockey took the holiday break to reflect on areas of improvement, and it appears they may have taken note out of the gate. Nolan Vesey's two goals in the first period helped lift the Black Bears to a 3-2 win over RPI Friday afternoon, improving their record to 9-7-1 on the year.

Maine wins 5-2 and pretty much dominated this one to complete the weekend sweep. They are now 10-7-1 and move to HE games with a biggie next Saturday at BU. They are actually fun to watch ;)
