Five recruits commit to play football at UMaine, and Black Bears are looking for more
Coach Joe Harasymiak gets the early signing period started by filling some areas of need.

...“We had a plan going in (to recruiting) and obviously that’s changed,” said Harasymiak. “I think we’ve still got a good group here but we’ll look to recruit a couple of backs to fill a spot we didn’t think we’d have.

“We’re excited about recruiting kids who want to be here. They know the coaches are going to be here. They know the system is here, the offensive system, for people to have success.”

Harasymiak said he is confident in returning running backs Joe Fitzpatrick (of North Yarmouth and Cheverus), who was second on the team with 382 rushing yards, Darian Davis-Ray and freshmen Ramon Jefferson and Ted Kubongo.

Agreed that Morgan looks like the more talented receiver & more college ready. The bigger loss was the OL Addo to Duke. Most of the rest of the CAA seems like they signed many more commitments. JMU cleaned up as expected but we shouldn’t have to worry about them in the FCS much longer. Of the “Northern” programs...Stony Brook seems to be on the rise. They got commits from a coiple of guys Maine was recruiting & they already have another expansion of their fairly new stadium planned. UNH didn’t seem to have an extraordinary day on the recruiting front.

Hopefully Maine steals a couple of players that are holding out for FBS offers that never materialize. O-Line & RB are on the must-have list!!!
