FA Fan- Cabrini Goncalves
Adrian Otero is a freshman coming in (big back slated for LB) who could be switched to RB. Maine also has Ted Kubongo at RB,who played some special teams last year. They could also put Brandon Vicens back there. He has primarily been a special teamer thus far, getting spot duty at FB. They need to figure something out at the position though.

Nine UMaine football players to work out at pro day

...The school announced the participants Tuesday, headlined by offensive lineman Jamil Demby. Demby, who had a shaky outing at the NFL Scouting Combine, will look to bounce back Friday morning with a strong showing in the dome in Orono.

Joining Demby are wide receivers Marquise Adams, Jaleel Reed, and Ben Davis, offensive linemen Isaiah Brooks and John Reddington, alongside secondary stars Najee Goode, Tayvon Hall, and Jason Matovu.

Demby "blessed" to have opportunity to showcase skills in front of NFL scouts

ORONO - The University of Maine will hold its football pro day Friday, and many eyes will be on its former offensive lineman.

Scouts from the New England Patriots, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles and possibly others will be on hand at UMaine, as nine former Black Bears will showcase their skills in an attempt to gain traction ahead of the NFL Draft. All eyes in particular will be on Jamil Demby though, who recently took part in the NFL's Scouting Combine in Indianapolis to mixed results.

UMaine football’s Cole spring scrimmage to be played under the lights

The University of Maine football team’s 14th annual Jeff Cole Memorial Spring Scrimmage has usually been held on a Saturday morning. Last spring, it was held on a Saturday afternoon at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland.

But UMaine head football coach Joe Harasymiak is holding this spring’s Cole scrimmage under the lights at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 4, at Alfond Stadium in Orono.

The game is named after a UMaine assistant coach who died of cancer in 2004.

“We’ve done a couple of different things,” said Harasymiak. “Last year, we went to Portland which was good for the fan base down there.

No QB battle for UMaine this spring, but who’s going to run the ball?

...Here’s another thing that didn’t feel spring like in Orono — no starting quarterback battle for the first time in five years. Chris Ferguson returns after a redshirt freshman season in which he threw for 2,064 yards and 16 touchdowns. Ferguson certainly looms as the starter in the fall, though he isn’t taking anything for granted.

“Isaiah (Robinson) is here,” he said, referring to Maine’s other quarterback on the roster. “And I’m competing against myself every day, trying to be the best that I can.”

Instead, Maine’s challenge this spring — and into the fall — is to find a running back. Josh Mack, who as a sophomore last fall led the Football Championship Subdivision in rushing with 1,335 yards, requested a transfer in December and left the school.
