BU-UMaine men's BB game at 2:00pm Wed. 11/22 at CIC

The University of Maine Men's basketball team returns from a 4 game road venture where they lost all 4 games, hope getting back to Bangor and the Cross-Insurance Center on a Wednesday matinee home game before Thanksgiving Day hosting 0-3 Boston University will get them a win.

This's the third time in a row that Maine and their opponents are both win less and Maine lost the 2 previous games against South Alabama 68-46 and Sacred Heart 69-68 in OT. There other losses are to Boston College 85-65 and to Texas Tech 83-44.

Currently Maine is ranked 336 in the Pomeroy RPI Rankings and BU is at 251 of the 351 D-1 college teams.

In the realtimerpi.com RPI rankings Maine is at 291 and BU is 256.

The America East Conference that Maine is in is ranked 20th in the realtimerpi.com conference RPI rankings and the Patriot League which BU is in is at 24 in the 33 conferences.

BU's 3 losses have been to Northeastern 65-59, Albany 88-74 and to Connecticut 85-66.

Maine is shooting 32.8% from the floor, 21.4% for 3's and 67.5% from the line while BU is 41.0% from the floor, 32.4% from the 3 point line and 59.2% from the line.

Offensively Maine is averaging 55.8 ppg and BU is averaging 66.7 ppg.

Defensively Maine is giving up 76.3 ppg and BU is giving up 77.0 ppg.

Both teams have 2 player averaging double figures. Maine Araon Calixe 12.0 and Ilker Er 10 both returning from season ending injuries last year as Calixe only played in first 5 games and got his year back so is a red-shirt junior while Er played in the first 11 games but with the cut off being 7 games so he doesn't get the year back as he is classified as a senior. Where is an international player maybe it worth the effort to appeal that decision to the NCAA.

BU Nick Havener averages 14.3 and Cedric Hankers 12.7.

BU'a higher ranking in both RPI polls is do to them playing opponents who have played a tougher schedule so far in the season. Meaning they have higher PI's then Maine's opponents.

On paper this game could be a possible tossup.
