CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The University of Maine softball dropped a 5-2 decision to Troy in extra innings on Sunday at Frost Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn. It marked the final game of the UT-Chattanooga Tournament for the Black Bears, who fell to 1-4 on the season.

Maine rallied late to make the game exciting. After Troy pushed a run across in both the third and fifth innings, the Black Bears went to work in the bottom of the seventh and scored twice to send the game to extra frames tied at 2-2.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The University of Maine softball team continued the second day of its season opening UTC-Chattanooga Tournament. The Black Bears earned their first win of the 2009 season with a roaring 10-2 victory over Campbell in game one of a double-header. In the second game Maine fell 5-3 to Tennessee Tech, moving to 1-3 on the season. Maine was led by Terren Hall (Bucksport, Maine) who knocked in three runs.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The University of Maine softball team opened its 2009 season on Friday by dropping a pair of tough contests on the opening day of the UTC-Chattanooga Tournament. Maine fell to No. 20 Virginia Tech, 4-1, in the opener, and then dropped a 3-1 decision to host-school Chattanooga.
