Reid- Knight's transfer was announced on verbal commits. If TRK graduates this semester, the graduate transfer rule would apply. As a 5th year redshirt senior, Troy would be eligible to play immediately upon transfer to another D1 school. A more likely scenario...Troy transfers to a CIS school for his final year and takes graduate courses. He is a bio major. He may also just move on from basketball and enter graduate school?
I would like to see Garet Beal play at Husson. He would have a chance to help them as a big wing or at the 4 spot. He would also have a chance to contribute to a winning program. He has endured many hardships with injuries and losing. He deserves a fun and productive senior year.

I would expect he must be transferring down to D2 because if he goes to another D1 school he will have to sit out one more year and then play just 1 more at that school. Off to a D2 and he can play in November (health permitting) for one full season.

I wonder if Beal would consider transferring to Husson or USM and playing at the D3 level for a year to wrap up his collegiate career. I heard he has no desire to play at Maine further, but maybe to go to one of those schools it would be interesting to him.

Also, per Verbal Commits - Jaheam Cornwell is headed to Gardiner-Webb, and James Karnik of Canada is headed to Lehigh. Karnik was interesting at 6-9 225 who looked pretty good in the paint and on the glass in his highlight video. McFarland is headed to Division 2 - Eastern Oklahoma Something. Not surprised there.

And according to VC, Maine has 6 offers out there, and 1 scholarship available.

Linquist: Thanks again for the additional information.

Of the 6 offers out are there any BIGS 6'9" 230lbs?

Funny you should ask Bob because on that site you can watch highlight videos and get details on each player. You should check it out sometime, but be careful you can go down a rabbit hole and get lost going through videos and notes on players and teams and the next thing you know you are watching videos of kids Pacific University is recruiting.

But to answer your question :

Linquist: Thanks for the information. So they have offered 2 BIGS, 2 forwards and 2 guards that is balanced, hope they get a BIG first, a forward second and not another guard.

Thanks again for the info.

PF: Thank you for the info. Maine certainly does get out there to find these players to offer scholarships too. Just hope they can sign another BIG to go along with Antoms.

Walt McGrory lives in my neck of the woods. I have seen him play several times in games and I see him around in the gyms. Small world. His sister MC is having good success at Creighton.

Would like to see Myers expand his game and play some point. If he could play some spot duty, Maine should be in better shape at the position if Calixte can stay healthy. McKennon is your fringe back up. Boz has the work ethic, intensity and heart and he certainly improved...but he still can't shoot. D1 point guards have to be able to knock down open threes to keep the defense honest. His free throw percentage is also poor. I think he could have some success at the D2 level. Serviceable back up at D1. If Walsh believes he can get better players, then he has to go out and get them. Tough call on Bernstein, but I wouldn't give him a scholly if I believed I could find a more talented player.
