Vermont men commit 2 questionable plays in last seconds

Talk about playing the game from the shoulders down. In the last few seconds of Vermont, the team with the longest consecutive winning streak in the country now at 21, almost gave the game away to Albany.

Leading 56-52 with under a minute to go. Taking the ball out of bounds on the end line in their back court the player taking the ball out of bounds throws the ball in bounds into their front court and Albany intercepts the pass and then with .03 on the clock Vermont fouls the 3 point shooter.

Who chokes the first foul by clanking it on the front of the rim...never up never in.

Makes the second shot 56-53 then misses thirds shot intentionally but time runs out.

Vermont committed two cardinal sins....by not thinking from the shoulders up. All the player taking the ball out-of-bounds had to do is call a time out, if they had one and if they didn't then all he had to do was bounce the ball off the player guarding him inbounds off the shins and step out of the balls way and the ball goes out of bounds and Vermont retains possession.

Then, YOU DO NOT FOUL THE THREE POINT SHOOTER WITH A 4 POINT LEAD ESPECIALLY ON A SHOT FROM THE CORNER.

If my high school team had done either of those dumb things I would have been really upset. However, we would have practiced bouncing ball of in bounds player guarding the man out of bounds and stepping away so the ball doesn't hit him.

AND THEY WOULD HAVE KNOWN NOT TO FOUL THE 3 POINT SHOOTER IN THAT SITUATION, because we played the game from the shoulders up, not relying on athleticism and playing the game from the shoulders down.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
