UMaine receiver happy to be back after serving suspension

... Wright declined to discuss the details of the situation that led to his most recent suspension, but said knows his actions negatively impacted the team. He has apologized to his teammates.

“I let them down last year and I took it even harder this year,” Wright said. “Obviously, having something like this happen a second time is not something I’m proud of.

“Anything like this affects the team in a negative way. I’m trying to move past it and show these guys I’m sorry for everything that has happened,” he added.

Wright, who was suspended for seven weeks, admitted he was worried that he wouldn’t be reinstated.

“It was obviously a concern. But it’s resolved now. It’s the least of my worries at this point,” said Wright. “It was a long process, and I’m focused on Villanova right now.”

Why does the BDN have to run an article on Wright returning to the team? Seems like they have nothing better to focus on! Almost every article the BDN has run mentions the three suspended players by name. Even thou this kid has proven to be a decent football player he is a continuous distraction and in my opinion negative role model. Why not write an article on a kid that has worked his way up in the ranks to a starting position or about positive role models that actually can keep out of trouble and contribute to the team.

UMaine's Wright is Feeling Game Ready

ORONO, MAINE (WABI) - UMaine football will get wide receiver Micah Wright back this weekend after his suspension. Last year, he was the team’s best offensive weapon. And he's hoping to get the ball thrown to him, on Saturday, at Villanova.

Maine football hopes to establish run against Villanova

ORONO - It should come a no surprise. Maine football runs the ball, and does so efficiently.

“To win games at this level or any level you got to run the football,” Maine football offensive coordinator Liam Coen said.

The Black Bears have done that better than anyone this season as they are averaging just over 200 yards on the ground per game.

A run game that has been spearheaded by sophomore running back Josh Mack.
