I'm aware of what the media guide says. The media guide is wrong. The format did not allow them to include Will O'Neill.

My post of the list and the link was Not a response to your accurate mention of O'Neill, but only that I thought folks like myself might find the top of the list and the next up from the 100 pts. mark interesting. Chill Dude. :)

Gotcha. I've gotten accustomed to being trolled in these forums so I'm always at DEFCON-3. One of the reasons I rarely post anymore.

When you can point out something like the omission of O'Neill, your creds become almost unquestionable !! ;)

Men’s Hockey Drops Hard-Fought Game Late, 4-3

The University of Maine Men's Hockey program traveled to North Andover, MA for the front end of their Hockey East matchup against the Merrimack College Warriors.

Maine got off to a fast start as sophomore Daniel Perez found the back of the net 1:21 into the opening stanza. Chase Pearson and Ryan Smith both picked up assists on the play. For the next 18:39 of the period, both teams remained deadlocked as both Rob McGovern and Colin Delia remained perfect making 19 and 15 saves, respectively.

Maine continued its momentum as Blaine Byron tallied his 100th point on his 15th goal of the year 10:31 into the second period on assists from Chase Pearson and Cam Brown. Just 20 seconds later, it would be Chase Pearson finding the net on a faceoff win, as both Danny Perez and Ryan Smith won net front battles, allowing Pearson to go top shelf over a sprawling Delia. Merrimack would then cut the lead to 2 as Sami Tavernier was able to beat McGovern on an assist from Johnathan Kovacevic. Maine would enter second intermission up 3-1 behind 26 Rob McGovern saves.

The third period would saw Maine and Merrimack battle back and forth, until Ludvig Larsson was able to break through and score 15:02 into the frame. Chris Leblanc would pick up an assist on the play. With two minutes to go in the game, the Warriors pulled their goaltender and after sustaining heavy pressure, Derek Petti was able to find the equalizer on assists from Jace Hennig and Marc Biega. The period would end with the score knotted at 3-3, as both teams prepared for overtime. Rob McGovern registered 38 shots in regulation while Merrimack's Colin Delia registered 35.

Overtime saw both teams exchange opportunities in a back and forth track meet style game. With just over a minute to play, Jace Hennig would find a seam beneath McGovern and slide home the game winner for Merrimack, 4-3. Rob McGovern would make 40 saves in the loss, while Colin Delia picked up 35 in the win.

Maine will finish up the series at Merrimack tomorrow night at Lawler Rink.

...The teams play again on Saturday night at 7.

Daniel Perez’s first-period goal and second-period goals 20 seconds apart by Blaine Byron and Chase Pearson supplied the Black Bears with their 3-0 lead.

Byron’s goal made him the 55th player in school history to reach the 100-point plateau.

“We played great. But it wasn’t good enough,” said UMaine coach Red Gendron. “We didn’t finish the game. That’s what we have to do.”
