2- WR Devin Young and Jay Shears
1- RB Ramon Jefferson
2- OL Liam Dobson and Archie Callahan
3- DL (all listed as DE) Raffaele Salamone Jahmel Wiley and Daniel Rhymer
1- LB Maurice McCray
1- S Erik Robertson
1- CB Shaquille St. Lot
Unconfirmed signing of Johnny Rosario a 6'4 WR from Thornton academy.
No bodies for the interior Dline as of yet...

2017 Football roster is up on the website.
QB Jack Walsh has left the program and transferred to Saint Anselm.

UMaine Football Signs Strong Class With a few Mainers Staying in Their Home State

UMaine football added 15 high school seniors to the roster today. They will be joined by three transfers for next season.

On the list of signees today are two guys from southern Maine. Michael Laverriere from Thornton Academy.

He is the reigning Fitzpatrick Award winner.

Nice recruiting class with maybe the standout being the kicker, Kenny Doak a 5 star recruit from PA. The big question will be who wins the QB position especially with Walsh leaving the program.

Man O' Man, am I finally gonna be excited about our field goal, and with it close-games, prospects ?? Can not over-emphasize how important this could be to UMaine making a step up the ladder in FCS football !!!!

Kenny Doak can boot the ball pretty good. His accuracy in his high school games was shaky, but he has plenty of leg and the ball jumps off his foot. He appears to have a stronger leg than DeCloux. Check out his you tube video from the kicking camp!

The staff seems very excited about getting Grant McDonald. He had offers from North Dakota and Buffalo. He could get on the field early and help the TE position.
Word is Isaiah Robinson's recruitment came down to the wire with one other unnamed school. He doesn't have a cannon, but has enough arm to make college throws and the accuracy looks really good.
The additions of Dobson, Barnes and Callahan are going to beef up and strengthen Maine's running game!
I am kind of bummed out that Walsh transferred. Hopefully Ferguson is ready to make a a major step forward as I am not sold on Belcher or Staver as the answer at QB.
