end of first half stats...

Bernstein not having a very good first half, Evans and Calixte's shooting from deep was suspect. Fleming and Eze playing well.

got a text from a good friend from the game that I would like Eze and Er...so that's encouraging!

Rebuilding UMaine men’s basketball team seeks stability, upward mobility

ORONO, Maine — A tumultuous offseason saw five players transfer out of the University of Maine men’s basketball program.

That included the Black Bears’ top two scorers and three of the team’s four leading point producers last winter, all seeking upward mobility in the Division I ranks after UMaine struggled to an 8-22 season.

Third-year head coach Bob Walsh and his staff have filled those roster slots with a mix of transfers, junior college players and such freshmen as BDN All-Maine first-team pick Andrew Fleming of Oxford Hills in South Paris.

UMaine men’s basketball searches for stability
Five players transferred from Orono after last season, leaving Coach Bob Walsh to scramble to fill vacancies.

... Walsh begins his third season at Maine on Friday night with the season opener at Virginia Tech. He’s coming off an 8-22 season and 3-27 before that. His predecessor, Ted Woodward, had one winning season in 10 years (117-178 record).

“Every school has its challenges,” Walsh said. “You have to recruit to that.”

Walsh is trying. Along with the five transfers, two other players graduated (the fifth and sixth top scorers). To plug the gap, Walsh brought in three players from junior colleges among his recruits.

“We didn’t bring in six freshmen to fill those spots. We have three junior college kids that have experience playing college basketball,” Walsh said. “We’re an older team. We’re more mature.”

FYI to 97Alum;
Husson beat UM Fort Kent last night. Mitch Worster, the guy you say is "awful" and not worthy of playing D3 contributed 24 points against the team that beat UMaine in their last game.
Just a note to thank you for your expertise and knowledge. :lol:

kg: I was there and Mitch had a great game. He was 8 for 14 from the floor, 5 for 9 from 3 point land, 3 for 3 from the line of his 24 points.He started the game and played 27 minutes and was a huge factor in the Husson win.
