Maine never bid for the 2019 regional. Their intent was to bid for the 2020-22 regionals.

What are you talking about????? A guy at the BDN told me Red will have them in the NCAA tournament NEXT YEAR!!! 8-)

We have submitted a bid to host a regional in the 2019-20, 20-21 and 21-22 seasons,” said Seth Woodcock, UMaine’s senior associate athletic director for development. “If the NCAA chooses us, it could be for one of the three years, two of them or all three

When the bids for those years are announced i would be suprised if Portland received one. Not with that building and design. I know people may point they dont understand how other arenas get bids when they believe those arenas are subpar, but knowing a little of what needs to be done beyond the on ice product and seating availability the Portland facility just is not up to par.

But maybe the NCAA will see it otherwise in the coming years.

It will all be a moot point....the playoffs are going back to campus.
