maine is now qb city! i don't know what we're going to do with all of them.
1) brusko
2) treister
3) reagan
4) hinds
5) smith
6) ebeling
7) wasilewski

what are we gonna do with all the arms???????
i would assume brusko is the no brainer for this year, but for the 2010 season, who gets the nod? i thought it was gonna be treister but apparently the staff has something else in mind. i liked what i saw from the smith kid from iona. their line was trash and he did a decent job in space. i always liked treister. who knows what the reagan kid has to offer. hinds, although on the team, isn't gonna play. who knows whats up with the kids from nj or pa. i'd like to see a commitment to a certain type of offense and recruit from there.

if these kids are throwers, then can we assume going forward that they would like to adopt an offense that can throw?
over under on justin edwards dunks this year: 1.5 per game

I'd say that in 2010 we'll have quite a competition between Treister, Smith, Ebeling, and Wasilewski. I like the idea of the coaching staff hedging their bets at the QB position. It shows that they are serious about developing a passing game.

What about Nate Doehler???? ;) Like I said earlier, some of these guys are obviously destined to play another position or will never see action. Not sure I agree that Brusko is the man unless he can prove he can throw the ball, unless we go w/ 2 QB's. It was appearent against the top teams in 1AA you can't win unless you can throw and run the ball.

Shawn Bodtmann......a former Nebraska commit who had his scholarship pulled. Here is an article about him as well as his various recruiting profiles:

Also visiting campus over the weekend was former UNH commitment Alfred Tillerson, a 2 star LB recruit from Wallingford, NJ:

Maine has announced their list of 10 signed recruits (as of about 3:00pm EST). Not sure if the timing of the release was a league mandate, but there could be more additions as the day (and week) goes on. There are some notable absences from the "verbal" list, however this could be due to a variety of factors:

1. Their NLI hadn't arrived before the release of the list.
2. In the end, a scholarship offer was not made to them.
3. They are holding out for a better offer or signed with another program.

However, with a little digging I did find these nuggets of info. on some of them:

Mike Cole, Troy Eastman, and Troy Russell: http://blogs.mycentraljersey.com/haley/ ... ege-plans/

Nate Doehler and Josh Spearin: http://news.mainetoday.com/updates/039268.html

And Darlos James: http://varsityinsider.lohudblogs.com/20 ... ign-today/

Maine is updating their list as the day progresses.......2 more have been added to the list including Darlos James: http://goblackbears.cstv.com/sports/m-f ... 09aaa.html

You're right, MJ. This list is FAR from complete. I know of some verbals that even you didn't list (hard to believe but it's true  )

I'm checking with my son now to see what he knows...

Yeah......I just edited my prior post. ;)

I almost had a heart attack when I saw the first list of only 10 players that excluded many of the more highly touted recruits......phew!

I'll start working on the front profile page to give every new Black Bear their due! :)
