Maine shot an outstanding 36.4% from the 3 point line while holding Hartford to 40%. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that sounds wrong about that.

What a great atmosphere for an America East Championship game! I wish it was like that every home game. This Maine team is a joy to watch. They never let up after Hartford made their run in the second quarter. Well done Black Bears! Should be a 13 seed with a legit chance to win a game in the Big Dance!

"drive&dive": Well that's why they put erasers on pencils and mine usually rips the paper. Not better but outstanding in total 3's made 12 to 6 which is 36 points to 18 points which is an 18 point difference and Maine won by 20.

I have watched a lot of great women's basketball players who have come through this program over the last 30 years, and I think Blanca Millan is by far the most complete player Maine has ever had. She is not just an offensive star, but she is a lock down defender.

It was a great afternoon of basketball. I got to spend it with my brother, his wife, her son, and my good friends Jim and Jay Baines! Two years in a row now we have witnessed this amazing program win the America East title. With three starters back we could be back in our same seats next season.

I echo everything you said. I went with a good friend and we had a terrific time. This is by far my favorite UM women's starting 5 ever. They are like the 1980s Boston Celtics of UM women's basketball. You really can't get a feel for how good Blanca is until you see her live in person. She does so many little things that the cameras don't always show. It brought a tear to my eye seeing Tanesha and Parise play at home for the last time and winning it all! Such a likable team and what more can we say about Vachon? She is just an incredible coach, motivator and tactician. Another season or 2 of this type of winning and big programs are going to start offering her a job.

The fans.......WOW. That was one loud atmosphere! I think more than a few of us from MBR were there.....saw UMaineSuperfan & turkeyman. I feel sorry for recruits that have chosen other schools over the last couple of years. They just are not going to play in front of an appreciative and loyal fanbase like the one we saw last night. I was also impressed by the overall organization of the event.....went really smoothly.

I agree with everything posted just a fun team to watch and even though attendance was less than last year I thought it was definitely louder. Hartford players were quoted saying the crowd was a definite factor ;)
