Change in D-1 NCAA Transfer Release Rule!

Postby bcbc55 » Wed Jun 13, 2018 10:55 pm

New transfer rule for next year for D-1 schools. Players wishing to transfer do not have to ask for a release from the college they are currently playing for as in the past.

All they have to do is let their school that they are currently playing for know that they seek to transfer and then the school HAS to put the players name on the national transfer list.

However, each individual conference could make up their own transfer rules so there is a possibility that the rule that the college still has to grant the release would still be up to individual conferences.

Get this other new rule. In NCAA D-1 football players will be allowed to play in 4 games during a red shirt year.

How come it is only football????????????????????????????

All other transfer rules are still remain in effect.

.

It benefits football more? Freshmen require much more development in football than in other sports. Just a guess. I wouldn't be surprised if other sports look to tweak their rules as well.
