Virginia’s Oak Hill Academy Ranks #1 Overall for Producing NBA Players

MOUNT OF WILSON, Va. – The nation’s top high school to produce NBA talent is in Virginia’s own backyard.

According to a recent study, Oak Hill Academy, located in Mount of Wilson, is the best high school at getting prep stars to the highest level of basketball competition in the world.

The school has produced NBA players such as Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rando, Brandon Jennings, along with 25 others since its basketball program began in 1976.

The program, which is currently run by coach Steve Smith, has finished first nationally seven times since the year 2000.

Five potential draft steals who could break out in the NBA

Every year there are a few prospects who look far better at the NBA level than they did in college because of a variety of situational factors.

Jaylen Brown, an explosive driver and streaky shooter, was rarely able to tap into his aggressive slashing ability with much success at Cal. Playing almost exclusively the 2 and the 3 with two traditional big men clogging the paint, Brown struggled and analytics models said stay away near the top of the draft. Kyle Kuzma was used as more of a roller and post-up big man in Utah's structured half-court offense, unable to regularly unleash the best aspects of his offensive game.

Where a prospect lands is an essential factor in determining what type of pro he becomes, but it's also important to dive into each prospect's NCAA situation to find the next collegiate casualty turned draft day steal. Here are the names to watch in this draft.

Texas A&M’s Robert Williams may be a ‘sponge’ for coaching, but is he a fit for Hornets?

Texas A&M’s Robert Williams might be out of college, but he constantly reminds himself he isn’t done being a student.

Williams, a long-armed 6-foot-9 forward-center, turned pro following his sophomore season, when he averaged 10.4 points and 9.2 rebounds. It’s not entirely clear which position best fits his size and skill at the NBA level, and that doesn’t worry him.

He likes that he’s still learning his craft.

“Just soaking up all the information they were giving me,” Williams said of the pre-draft workout he had with the Charlotte Hornets Saturday morning at Spectrum Center.

Grayson Allen Reportedly Had 2018 NBA Draft Workout with 76ers

Duke guard Grayson Allen was reportedly part of a pre-draft workout at the Philadelphia 76ers practice facility Wednesday, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

General manager Bryan Colangelo was in attendance to see the players.

The 76ers have the No. 10 and No. 26 picks in the first round of the 2018 NBA draft.

The squad also has four second-round picks, where Allen could potentially land at the end of June.

Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman predicted the guard to go No. 43 overall to the Denver Nuggets in his latest mock draft
