Nike Hoop Summit, World Team notebook: Florida commit Andrew Nembhard is a wizard with the ball
When the ball was tipped at the opening scrimmage of Tuesday's World Team practice for the Nike Hoop Summit, point guard Andrew Nembhard snagged the loose ball. Without hesitation, he sped down the court, toed the elbow and knocked down a 15-foot jumper.
It's not surprising to see him do that. Nembard, a Florida commit and the No. 26 player in the Class of 2018 according to 247Sports, is a capable scorer.
"Andrew sees everything. I don't know how. He has eyes in the back of his head," said teammate and No. 1 recruit R.J. Barrett. "If you need him to score, he'll score, if you need him to defend, he can really do anything on the court."
Although he can do a lot, the Ontario native does have a main preference.
"My favorite thing to do is probably pass. A nice assist for a dunk. I'd rather have a no-look bounce pass than a dunk," he said, before adding a caveat: "Unless it's a dunk on somebody."
