Four-star recruit Keyontae Johnson will head to Oak Hill
Following a move that saw four-star recruit Keyontae Johnson head to prestigious IMG Academy last season, the ex-Norview standout is in the move again, announcing his decision to enroll at Oak Hill Academy on Thursday.
Johnson, burst onto the national scene this past high school season with IMG, but it was his work on this year’s summer circuit with a talented Boo Williams 17-and-under squad that catapulted Johnson into one of the most coveted available recruits, earning a honorable mention All-Peach Jam selection after averaging 12 points, 7.6 rpg while shooting over 71 percent from the field.
Fresh off an offer from Rhode Island, Johnson also claims interest from Kansas, Providence, Virginia Tech and a host of other high-major programs. He will be the latest top player from Hampton Roads to join the Oak Hill program in consecutive years. Former Maury guard Matt Coleman, now at Texas, left the Commodores for Oak Hill in 2015, while ex-Norfolk Academy big Dave McCormack was added to the program last season.
