Cormac Coming on Strong

It was July of 2015 that Cormac Ryan landed his first division I scholarship offer from the University of Pennsylvania.

A year later, July of 2016 turned out to be the summer that he solidified himself as a priority high-major recruit.

Local ACC member, Boston College, proved to be ahead of the curve by offering the Milton Academy guard in March of his sophomore year. Rice and Davidson weren't far behind just a month later. In June, Ryan landed his first Big East offer as St. John's extended the invitation with DePaul and Tulane coming just days later...

Ryan Makes Debut in ESPN 60

Milton Academy guard Cormac Ryan made his first appearance in the national rankings earlier this week when ESPN announced their updated ESPN 60.

Ryan's debut came as the 54th overall ranked prospect in the class of 2018.

The 6-foot-5 guard has made consistent and rapid improvements since arriving in New England. His first appearance in the region came in the 2014 Elite 75 Frosh/Soph, when he still attended school in New York. He returned for the 2015 Stars of Tomorrow Camp and shortly afterwards landed his first division I offer from Penn.

On Sunday, one of the most highly skilled basketball prospects in the 2018 class made a decision. A timely one that comes a month before the next live but i guess when you know it’s the right time to make a decision you go with your gut feeling and Cormac Ryan did just that when he committed to the Stanford Cardinals.

The 6-foot-5 Milton Academy point guard verbally committed to Stanford over the likes of Villanova and Northwestern. The New York native made the transition to New England two years ago and took the region by storm making him one of the elite prospects regardless of class. Now he’ll be taking his talents to the west coast and attend one of the premier academic institutions in the country.

The Cardinals are getting a play maker with a high basketball IQ. Ryan is an efficient play caller who is vocal and gets his teammates involved. A long range shooter with good court vision and athleticism.

Cormac Ryan becomes the Cardinals first commit in the 2018 class.
