Former Rice star Kendrick Gray commits to East Tennessee State

...Gray didn't make his decision until visiting East Tennessee last weekend. He said he also considered Arkansas State and Rhode Island before accepting a scholarship offer from the Bucs. He had also taken an official visit to Youngstown State.

"The coaches here just recruited me better than a lot of other places," Gray said from Tennessee earlier this week. “It’s like a family on this team. It seemed like the best fit. They welcomed me with open arms.”

After collecting back-to-back state championships at Rice as a sophomore and a junior, Gray transferred to Vermont Academy — a member of the highly competitive NEPSAC league — and reclassified as a junior, allowing two more years of prep eligibility.
