Husson Field Hockey Upsets #5 Babson for First NCAA Tournament Victory

WELLESLEY, MA (WABI) - NCAA playoff field hockey featuring plenty of players from Maine. Husson was up against Babson this afternoon.

Babson has been in the top five in the nation the entire season. Husson the underdog.

In the second half, Babson put one in the cage against Husson but the referee said the ball was tipped outside the circle.

Babson was dominating play, but later in the 2nd half, Husson was the first team to score. Skowhegan product Mikayla Toth put one in. The only goal of the game.

Husson gets its first ever win in the NCAA tournament.

They'll play at Middlebury, on Saturday, against Rochester.

Husson field hockey looks to extend dream season

...With the win the Eagles will now venture into uncharted territory, a Sweet Sixteen matchup with the University of Rochester.

A dream that is slowly becoming reality.

"I still don't think its set in for me winning that game. Husson's you know a little school in Maine you don't here about and beating a nationally ranked team is probably the coolest thing that's ever happened to me," senior midfielder Mikayla Toth said.
