Bantams Bounce Field Hockey in Overtime

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity field hockey team tipped Bowdoin 32 seconds into overtime to collect a 3-2 win on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears fall to 6-3 overall with a 3-3 mark in conference play. The Bantams continued to build as the season progresses, climbing to 6-4 (3-4 NESCAC).

Game Highlights

Bowdoin's most promising look of the first half came as Elizabeth Bennewitz controlled a loose ball near midfield and dribbled into the circle, firing off a shot that missed wide right.
The Bantams tested first-year keeper Maddie Ferrucci on their second corner of the game, forcing her to make back-to-back stops. Neither team was able to score in the opening half and went into halftime, tied 0-0.
Elle Brine broke through for the game's first goal. Following a corner, the sophomore tracked down a rebound off an initial Bennewitz shot and put it away from the left post four minutes into the second.
Trinity took the lead with back-to-back penalty corner goals from Kelcie Finn and Chandler Colimine.
Abby Bashaw tied the game with a breakaway goal just 30 seconds after Colimine gave Trinity the lead.
Caroline Curtin ended the game in overtime, putting away a loose ball following a quick Trinity corner.
By the Numbers

Trinity held a slight 15-13 edge in shots, while both teams managed seven corners in the game.
Ferrucci ended the day with five saves.
Lori Berger made five stops for Trinity.
