COLBY: MEN'S SQUASH EARNS BIG WIN OVER WESLEYAN, 6-3

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The 24th-ranked Colby College men's squash team should move up in the national rankings for the second week in a row after taking a 6-3 win over 23rd-ranked Wesleyan University on Saturday.

The Mules notched a home win over Hobart College on Friday night and then took the trip to Middletown to play three matches. Colby will take on eighth-ranked St. Lawrence University on Sunday at 10 a.m. and then face 29th-ranked Connecticut College at 2 p.m.

The Mules, who went into last weekend ranked 26th, received a big 3-2 win from Matt Epstein at the seventh position. After falling in the fourth set, Epstein earned a clutch 15-13 win in the fifth set.

Will McBrian won 3-0 at the first position, while first-years Jason Brodo (sixth) and Sam Hitt (eighth) also earned straight set wins. Elliot Gross won 3-1 at the third position and Andrew Swapp won by the same score at nine.

COLBY WOMEN'S SQUASH LOSES TOUGH 5-4 MATCH

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The 26th-ranked Colby College women's squash team won four matches by 3-0 scores, but 24th-ranked Wesleyan University pulled out a 5-4 win on Saturday.

Devin Mullaney was a winner at the second spot and Olivia Silverman won at the third position. Julianna Song (fifth) and Lily Wain (seventh) also won in straight sets.

Colby takes on 20th-ranked St. Lawrence University at 10 a.m. Sunday and meets 29th-ranked Connecticut College at 2 p.m.

COLBY WOMEN'S SQUASH BEATS CAMELS, FALLS TO SAINTS

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The 26th-ranked Colby College women's squash team took a 7-2 win over 29th-ranked Connecticut College and nearly pulled off a major upset in a 5-4 loss to 20th-ranked St. Lawrence University on Sunday at Wesleyan University.

The Mules dropped to 3-9 overall, but Colby has been in nearly every match. The Mules are just 1-4 this year in matches of five sets.

Madiha Molani was a straight set winner for the Mules at the first position in the victory over the Camels. Devin Mullaney (two), Olivia Silverman (three), Julianna Song (five), Caroline Pelham (six), Lily Wain (seven), and Elise O'Brien (nine) also won in three sets.

Song, Pelham, Wain, and O'Brien won in straight sets against the Saints.

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- Andrew Swapp won both of his matches for the 24th-ranked Colby College men's squash team in a 9-0 win over 29th-ranked Connecticut College and an 8-1 loss to eighth-ranked St. Lawrence University on Sunday at Wesleyan University.

Will McBrian was a 3-1 winner at the first position after losing the first set against Conn College. Hugh Doherty (four), Will Pepi (five), and Jason Brodo (six) also won by 3-1 scores. Patrick McCarthy, Elliot Gross, Matt Epstein, Sam Hitt, and Swapp won 3-0 matches.

Swapp also won 3-0 and gave up just seven points in his ninth position win against the Saints.

COLBY WOMEN'S SQUASH 3-0 ON TRIP, BEATS WESLEYAN

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The 25th-ranked Colby College women's squash team earned a big 5-4 victory over 23rd-ranked Wesleyan University in capturing three wins on Friday and Saturday.

The Mules opened play with a 9-0 win at Smith College and then took a 6-3 victory Saturday morning at Mount Holyoke College. Colby came back later Saturday for the win against Wesleyan.

Devin Mullaney won 3-1 at the first position after losing the first set against Mount Holyoke.

The Mules received 3-0 victories from Julianna Song (three), Cricket di Galoma (four), Caroline Pelham (five), Lily Wain (six), and Elise O'Brien (seven) against 29th-ranked MHC.

In Friday's match against Smith, the Mules won all nine matches by 3-0 scores. Mullaney, Olivia Silverman, Song, di Galoma, Ren Robinson, Pelham, Wain, O'Brien, and Anna Gildea earned victories.

Final results against Wesleyan will be updated.
