Resilience leads Worcester back to starting lineup for Husson men’s postseason run

... The 6-foot-3, 185-pound junior guard scored 22 points to help the Eagles defeat Lyndon State in the North Atlantic Conference semifinals last Friday, then came back the next day with 24 points and six rebounds as Husson bested Thomas College of Waterville to win the NAC championship.

That earned the Eagles (21-6) a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament, beginning Friday night with a matchup at third-ranked Babson College in Massachusetts.

The two-game outburst in his return to Husson’s starting lineup earned Worcester a spot on the NAC all-tournament team and reflected a recent surge by the former 2,000-point scorer from Washburn District High School.

Mustangs Add a Key Addition to the Staff

Auburn, ME – CM Men's Basketball Coach Dave Gonyea is pleased to announce Jesse Dixon, former Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, has joined the staff of the men's basketball program at CM.

"We are very excited Jesse is coming aboard, says Coach Gonyea, he is a basketball junkie who understands what it takes to play and survive at the college level. I 've known him for many years as a respectful, hardworking, and sincere young man who will be a huge addition to our program."

Jesse's duties will include film editing, recruiting, practice implementation, community relations and game management.

In his college days, Jesse played at NMCC and averaged 10.5 ppg and 3.4 rebounds per game. He then transferred to UMPI and helped them to a 13-11 record and well as a USCAA National Tournament berth. He is in his last year at UMPI taking classes to finish his Bachelor's degree.

According to Jesse, "I have an incredible amount of respect for Central Maine and I am excited to be a Mustang. The tradition and success that the program has built make this an exciting opportunity. There is an unbelievable commitment to excellence athletically and academically at CM, and it starts with the leadership of President Knapp and Dave Gonyea. I look forward to returning to the YSCC where I have many great memories and I can't wait to create more alongside the CM nation.
