FARMINGTON, Maine -- University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball alum and current head coach of the Charlotte Hornets, Steve Clifford '83, will hold a coaching clinic on September 17, 2016 in Dearborn Gymnasium, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Clifford will focus on transition, individual and team offense and defense. The clinic is open to coaches of all levels. Registration is $30 and can be paid in advance or at the door. Checks should be made out to UMF Men's Basketball.

Steve Clifford has been working his way through the NBA coaching ranks since 2000. He started his career as a college assistant with Saint Anselm, Fairfield University, Boston University, and Siena College before accepting a head coaching job at Adelphi University. Clifford started to climb the coaching ranks at the high school level at Woodland High School in Baileyville, Maine.

As a student-athlete, Clifford tallied 250 career points over his four years at UMaine-Farmington, along with 113 rebounds. He amassed 125 assists in his senior season and 260 assists over his final three seasons.
