FOUR TOP-10 FINISHES FOR COLBY NORDIC SKIERS AT UVM

STOWE, Vt. -- Four Colby College skiers earned top-10 finishes and the women's team placed third in 10-kilometer classic racing at the University of Vermont Carnival at the Trapp Family Lodge on Saturday.

Zane Fields placed sixth and Silas Eastman was behind him in seventh for the men's team. Meanwhile, Amy Bianco took seventh place and Olivia Amber was slightly behind in eighth for the Colby women.

"I'm excited to have our top skiers skiing so consistently and to be vying for top team carnival finishes with our alpine team," Colby head coach Tracey Cote said. Fourth overall team scores on the heels of the bigger Division I schools is really exciting for our programs. Now we need to work to get some of our younger skiers up a bit farther on the results sheet."

The women had 82 points in taking third place behind University of New Hampshire (135), and Dartmouth College (123). The Mules beat University of Vermont (80) and were first among the five NESCAC skiing schools.

Bianco finished in 34 minutes, 53.1 seconds and Amber was at 34:53.6.

The Colby men finished in fifth place with 86 points and took second among NESCAC schools.

Fields had a time of 30:45.6 and Eastman was a place behind in seventh at 30:49.6.
