COLBY: TAYLOR-ROTH WINS EVENT FOR WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Abigail Taylor-Roth won the 200-yard breaststroke and Katie Discipio had two second-place finishes for the Colby College women's swimming and diving team in a 201-89 setback to Bowdoin College on Saturday.

Taylor-Roth had a time of 2 minutes, 34.50 seconds to earn nine points for the Mules. She also placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.18) in a tight race with Bowdoin's Sarah Freshnock (1:12.11).

Discipio was second in the 200 butterfly (2:23.08) and the 500 freestyle (5:30.22).

The Mules also received seconds from Madi Keohane in the 100 backstroke (1:04.67), Maria Armillei with a 25.31 in the 50 freestyle, and Eliza Baker-Wacks in the 200 breaststroke (2:42.20).

Kitty Elwyn took thirds in the 500 freestyle (5:32.52) and 1,000 freestyle (11:21.63). Colby also had thirds from Baker-Wacks in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.27), Armillei in the 100 freestyle (55.77), Kirsten Johnston in 1-meter diving (179.95 points), Keohane in the 200 backstroke (2:18.05), and Catherine Nisbet with a 2:47.43 in the 200 breaststroke.

COLBY: DEVINE WINS 100 BREASTSTROKE FOR MEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- John Devine was a winner in the 100-yard breaststroke for the Colby College men's swimming and diving team in a 189-91 loss to Bowdoin College on Saturday.

Devine had a time of 1 minute, 2.60 seconds for Colby's lone victory.

Carter Garfield, Harris Kim, and John Pintauro all had two second-place finishes for Colby. Garfield clocked a 22.24 in the 50 freestyle and also placed second in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.55). Pintauro was runner-up on the 1-meter (213.0) and 3-meter (233.95) boards. Kim swam to seconds in the 100 butterfly (54.91) and 200 butterfly (2:01.86).

The Mules also had seconds from Matt Jones in the 100 backstroke (57.11) and Joe Knight in the 100 freestyle (50.11). Colby's 400 freestyle relay team of Kyle Wong, Knight, Jacob Tower, and Devine were second in 3:19.29.

Thirds for Colby went to Hugh Jacobsen in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.26), Wyatt Fritz with a 50.64 in the 100 freestyle, Wong in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.30), and Gavin Blake in the 100 butterfly (55.15).

COLBY: RELAYS TAKE NINTH FOR WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Colby College had two relay teams take ninth place and Eliza Baker-Wacks had the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 50 breaststroke at the NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Bowdoin College on Friday.

The team of Olivia Hammer-Grant, Maria Armillei, Katherine King, and Catherine Cimini were ninth in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:39.37.

Emily Ambeliotis, Abigail Taylor-Roth, Katie Discipio, and Armillei took ninth with a time of 4:02.59 in the 400 medley relay.

Baker-Wacks placed 20th in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 31.81 (31.69 prelim). Cimini was 19th for the Mules in the 50 butterfly (26.55) and 23rd in the 50 freestyle (24.79), King took 24th in the 50 backstroke (29.53, 28.65 prelim), Taylor-Roth with a 2:13.42 (2:12.51 prelim) in the 200 individual medley for 24th place, and Armillei with a 24th in the 50 freestyle (25.18, 24.68 prelim).

In 1-meter diving, Alicia Elliott placed 15th with 292.30 points and teammate Kirsten Johnston was 17th with 277.75 points.

Colby has 137 points and is in 10th place after the first day of competition.
