Great to see Husson Football rebound and grab a win. I am extremely happy to see the #7 back on a QB'S back as my son Kash wore that number with a lot of Husson pride.

Eagles Victorious on Senior Day

BANGOR, ME – John Smith (Fayetville, GA) rushed for over a 100 yards to lead the Husson University football team to a 42-20 win over Anna Maria on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in Eastern Collegiate Football Conference play while Anna Maria falls to 0-8 overall and 0-5 in league play.

Anna Maria was up 14-0 before Joe Seccareccia (Bangor, ME) connected with Joe Farrell (Mattapan, MA) for a 57-yard touchdown pass at 10:09 of the second quarter.

Seccareccia hooked up with Farrell for the second time on the afternoon, tying the game at 14-14 with 6:50 left in the third quarter. Farrell made a fantastic catch in the back of the endzone, narrowly getting one foot down for the 21-yard reception.

The Eagles could not convert on their next drive but would force Anna Maria to go three and out, getting the ball back with 3:34 left on the clock in the third quarter.

Husson moved the ball 48-yards on two plays as Smith broke through the left side of the line for a 45-yard touchdown, his longest rush of the day, to give the Eagles a 21-20 lead.

Smith finished with 189 yards on 28 carries and three touchdowns and Shabashe McIntosh (Bridgeport, CT) rushed for 27 yards on two carries and a score. Farrell finished with three receptions for 85 yards and two scores to lead the Husson receivers.

It's not ironic that Husson's renewed success has been attributed to the re-hiring of Gabby Price as Head Coach. Great work by him and his staff in righting the ship over there.
