Longtime Mt. Ararat High School coach inducted into Hall of Excellence

Over her 40 years both teaching and coaching at Mt. Ararat High School, it is easy to say that Diane Fournier has likely seen it all.

Recently, Fournier, along with several coaching and playing icons from Maine, was among the fourth class to be inducted into the Maine Principals’ Association Hall of Excellence in ceremonies at the Augusta Civic Center.

Joining Fournier were Van Buren High School standout Matt Rossignol, high school boys hockey coaching legend Norm Gagne, who will lead Edward Little this season, golf champion Abby Spector, former University of Maine coach, athletic director and educator Walt Abbott, former commissioner of education J. Duke Albanese, longtime basketball official Al Card, former Stearns athletic director Don Dow, athletic administrator Gerry Durgin and former football coach Mike Haley.
