Carlisle swim teams sweep WA

LIMESTONE, Maine — The Carlisle girls and boys swim teams opened their season at the Limestone pool Saturday with convincing wins over visiting Washington Academy. The girls won by a score of 122-24, while the boys were also impressive in rolling to a 73-45 win. Swimmers from Fort Fairfield also competed, but did not field complete teams.
In the relays, the Carlisle girls had a great day. They finished first and second in the 200 medley relay with the team of Abby Espling, Emily Stillion, Madelyn Wing and Kyra Thibeault clocking a winning time of 2:20.55. Carlisle also had a first and third in the 200 freestyle relay, with Grace Kurtz, Scout Spencer, Brooke Rethman and Elizabeth Deschenes turning in a winning time of 2:30.39. The team also completed the relays with a first and second in the 400 freestyle relay, with Wing, Espling, Thibeault and Stillion prevailing in 4:38.94.

The boys’ relay teams turned in a strong performance. The team of Chris Parent, Harrison Ma, Jay Philbrick and James Lau won the 200 medley relay in 2:15.08. Spencer Soucy, Seth Farina, Parent and Martin Brozman took second in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:26.65, while Philbrick, Soucy, Lau and Ma won the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 5:21.
