The Sailfish youth swimmers finished seventh overall, while the girls placed fourth overall and boys 12th. The 9-10 girls finished second behind Kennebec Valley YMCA Stingrays and the 11-12 girls finished second behind the Bangor YMCA Barracudas.

The Sailfish also brought home one individual championship and two relay crowns, while they also earned two new team records.

Cyr, Fuller spotlight impressive skills, help key Maine stars in Canada
Talented duo earn first places, set state records

ST. JOHN, N.B. — Penobscot Bay YMCA Sailfish Emma Cyr and Kailin Fuller, along with nine other 11-12-year-old female swimmers, represented the USA Maine Swimming Inc. all-star team at the New Brunswick long course championships Friday through Sunday, March 23-25 at the Canada Games Aquatic Center.

Twenty-one teams participated, including 22 swimmers and four coaches from Maine.

In the end, Cyr and Fuller more than proved they belonged, as they displayed their impressive pool skills. Cyr finished first in the 200-meter backstroke and as a member of the 800-meter relay, while Fuller was a member of the winning 400-meter medley relay.

The talented duo, who also helped their relay teams set state records, were instrumental as Maine finished seventh with 428 points.
